PANAJI- Non Resident Indians (NRIs) can benefit from various schemes, such as the Goa Card, My Village, is evoking a lot of interest from expatriates and NRIs. The Goa Government investment schemes for NRIs like: Build Your Own Library, Dispensary or Road, was well received by participants attending a NRI meet organised by Syndicate Bank recently. The under the schemes, the Government is willing to contribute upto Rs10 lakhs for infrastructure development of villages and the rest may have to be contributed by NRIs. In turn the said Road, Library, and Dispensary built can be named after the ancestors of the NRIs.
Syndicate Bank is settling the Special Kuwait Compensation claims of the NRIs from Kuwait.
Various initiatives taken by Government of Goa is in progress for the welfare of NRIs. Mr U D Kamat, Director of NRI Affairs, in his address, explained how the NRIs can benefit from the schemes like Goa Card, Know Goa Programme and My Village, which evoked a lot of interest from the NRIs.
The NRIs participants were welcomed by Mr J S Shenoy, regional manager of Syndicate Bank Panaji Region.
