MUMBAI—Runwal Group, Mumbai based eminent real estate firm, is developing 'R City', a 12 lakh square feet mammoth shopping centre on LBS Marg, Ghatkopar (West), Mumbai. The one of its kind shopping centre will have a multi level retail galleria with a steady mix of the finest local brands and elite international brands. There will be a sprawling multilevel parking, a five level atrium, landscaped surroundings and an extensive food court. The shopping centre will cater to a client base of 2 million people within a 3 Km catchment.

And the final icing on the cake is a nine screen multiplex which is again a first for Mumbai. R- City will be developed in two phases - the first phase (7.5 lakhs square feet will be flagged off in January 2009). There will be complete floors dedicated to the retail needs of men, women and children.
Out of the 139 stores coming up in the first phase at R City, Future group will be present in 10 of them. R City will have Pantaloons and Big Bazaar as anchor stores, Staples and Ethnicity as junior anchor stores while Celio, Indus League-(Scullers, Indigo Nation, Jealous), Lee Cooper and Planet Sports- all Future Group initiatives will have vanilla stores. The other anchor stores are Adlabs, Lifestyle, Croma and Globus while other exquisite brands are also expected to come onboard as the leasing procedure continues. The latest anchor is Marks & Spencer which has taken up over twenty thousand square feet at R City to open their largest store in Mumbai. The ground floor will have 52 shops, while the first floor will have 29, second floor will have 38 and the 3rd floor is expected to have 21 stores.
