Mahanand confesses killing 15th woman

PONDA- Mahanand Naik, the serial killer Friday confessed to killing the 15th girl for the greed of gold. Interestingly, in the last three days itself he has confessed to killing five gilrs.
The 15th victim, who was in the age group of 25 to 30 years, was killed using the same modus operandi, the Ponda police informed.
The Ponda police inspector, Mr C L Patil said that Mahanand could not remember the name of the girl correctly, but confirmed that he killed her on December 30, 2005 at Cuncoliem, Mardol hillock.
She was fair in complexion and with normal height and the girl had told Mahanand that she was a resident of Narvem, Bicholim and was involved in readymade garments business,” Mr Patil informed quoting Mahanand.
Mr Patil said that the police records confirmed that a dead body was found few days after the alleged incident and that a suicide case was registered. However, interestingly there was no missing complaint filed by the victim’s family with the police, Mr Patil added as per the records.
