Married 'bachelor' thrashed in Ponda

PONDA- A Ponda resident was beaten black and blue by the father of a girl on Wednesday evening. He escaped from the father and ran to the hospital for medical attention.
The married man, working at a LPG agency, befriended the girl from Mapa Panchawadi, and promised to marry her, posing as a bachelor.
The girl however came to know about his `plans’ and asked him to meet her at their usual place. The man proceeded to the spot not knowing what was in store for him. As soon as he reached the spot, the father of the girl, who had accompanied her, took a hold of him and beat the living daylights out of him. The suitor somehow managed to escape from the father and ran all the way to the hospital.
Later the case was made known to the police who arrested the father and later released him.
The police said that the confessions of Mahanand Naik, has made this girl wise and this was a positive outcome from the sordid affair. They congratulated the girl for her actions.
