DBO cruise into semis

VASCO: Two fine saves in the tie-breaker by Agnelo Furtado, the agile keeper of Don Bosco Oratory, enabled his team to cruise into the semi-finals of 36th Bandodkar memorial football tournament, organised by Baina Sports Club at MPT grounds, Baina, Vasco on Thursday. DBO defeated Goa Velha Sports Club 2-1 during the penalty shoot-out after both the teams were level in regulation time. Sudden heavy showers played spoilsport for both the teams as water logging of the ground prevented short passes. Earlier, in the first half, Vishant Pednekar, who played in the defence and who was feeding the Goa Velha forwards aptly was denied by slushy ground conditions.
